The origin story of coffee, featuring Boon Boona Coffee

This project was really a labor of love between myself and Efrem Fesaha at Boon Boona Coffee. We set out to tell the origin story of arabica coffee, while showing how Boon Boona brings that story into our modern world.

We collaborated closely on the script and voice-over, with Efrem lending his voice to the project. I then designed the look and feel of the video, based on authentic Ethiopian art. It was important to both of us that this video feel handmade, so I ended up drawing ever frame of this animation by hand.

This is one of my favorite videos to date, and it really captures the spirit and essence of Boon Boona, and their mission to share authentic Africa origin coffee with the world.
